Onboard is a 10-month-old startup offering a self-service platform that helps SaaS companies onboard new customers via dynamic, global task lists with assignees, due dates, alerts and notifications. Customers or product teams determine variables by segment (for example, different plan types or integration needs) and Onboard generates a tailored task workflow derived from sales requirements. The company is building a more sophisticated notification layer with automated nudges intended to be helpful without being obnoxious. Onboard has a five-person team and is working with dozens of beta customers who are not being charged while the product is refined. Its plan is to charge mid-size customers hundreds of dollars per month plus a per-person-per-month fee and to avoid long enterprise contracts. The company was co-founded by CEO Jeff Epstein (founder of Ambassador), with William Stevenson and Matt Majewski involved, and competes with a number of upstarts in the customer-onboarding space.
