One Month | Learn to Code in 30 Days

600 Broadway, 2nd Floor, New York, 10012, United States

Overview

One Month offers bite-sized, course-based instruction (originally One Month Rails) across coding and non-coding topics, with a webbed structure that focuses on building specific projects. Its catalog includes Swift, HTML, Python, growth hacking, payment processing, web security, programming basics and content marketing, with JavaScript, UX design and MVP building listed as upcoming. The company has moved from per-class pricing to a subscription model ($49/month for one course or $100/month for multiple courses) and offers a One Month for Teams option for organizations. Founder Mattan Griffel says a free tier will be introduced soon, and free resources already exist in the One Month Learning Library. The site reports over 25,000 students and completion rates 2x–3x higher than other MOOCs. To date the company has raised $2.6M in outside funding. One Month offers accelerated programming instruction that condenses learning Ruby on Rails into a one-month program. The company has expanded enrollment since its August 2013 launch, recording 150,000 lessons completed and over 14,500 students in its Rails course. It reports class completion rates between 20–25%, roughly three times the average for most MOOCs. One Month says it will tackle other languages and toolkits, from Swift to web security, and is considering longer-form online education in the future. The company is led by founder and CEO Mattan Griffel and is backed by Y Combinator and other investors.
