Overview
OpenPeak is a Boca Raton, Florida-based provider of enterprise-class mobile device and application management solutions, led by CEO Dan Gittleman. Its core product is ADAM (the Advanced Device and Application Manager), a cloud-hosted platform that provides mobile device and application management as a service. ADAM's capabilities include pushing and removing apps, setting password policies, configuring VPNs, defining policies, and remotely locking and wiping devices. The platform is offered as a white-label solution through carriers and large OEMs worldwide. OpenPeak received an investment from AT&T; the amount and instrument were not disclosed. The company said it will use the funds to accelerate global growth, expand industry partnerships, and continue technology and product innovation. OpenPeak builds multimedia touch-screen devices and device management platforms. It recently announced the OpenTablet 7, a portable touch-screen device the article says is similar in many ways to Apple’s iPad. The OpenTablet 7 is based on Intel’s Moorestown platform and the tablet includes thousands of apps with a completely Flash-based app ecosystem. Beyond tablets, OpenPeak also develops multimedia phones, set-top boxes, and home energy management applications. The company secured an additional $52 million in financing from Intel Capital, Horizon Technology Finance, and Velocity Financial Group. OpenPeak said the funding will be used to expand product development and enter new markets.
