Opna provides a digital marketplace and tooling that connects corporates with fully vetted carbon project developers and standardizes financing processes and agreements. The platform enables businesses to finance projects upstream—before carbon credits are generated—and then monitor project portfolios via KPIs and risk reporting. Opna focuses on projects with established frameworks and science, including reforestation, land restoration, biodiversity conservation and biochar across Europe, Africa and South Asia. The company charges a set percentage on completed financing transactions and an annual subscription for monitoring, tracking and reporting. Since founding in 2022 (rebranded from Salt three months ago), Opna has signed up “tens” of project developers and has been privately beta testing with several enterprises. The startup aims to scale the platform and boost customer awareness over the next couple of years using its new funding.
