Ordr operates a platform for digital menus, order placement and payment that it positions as a virtual POS for bars, restaurants and hotels. Its branded phone solution replaces existing POS systems, allows waiters to take orders and payments, and does not require customers to download a new app. Launched in Norway in 2020, Ordr counts customers including IKEA, Nordic Choice, REKOM and Color Line. The company says the platform increases sales and reduces queues and enables hotels and pubs to feature local restaurant menus on site. Ordr cites competitors including FlipDish, Onvi.com and WeOrder. Adoption accelerated during the pandemic due to infection-control measures, and the company is expanding by launching in Sweden, Finland, Denmark and the United Kingdom.
