ORIS Materials Intelligence is a Paris-based company offering a cloud solution that blends artificial intelligence, data science and engineering to help infrastructure owners, engineering firms and municipalities design environmentally responsible transport assets. Its platform evaluates carbon footprint at the earliest stages of a project, optimizes local material use, lowers CO₂ emissions and construction costs, and incorporates climate-resilience criteria. In 2024, the tool helped clients avoid 3.1 million tonnes of CO₂, save 4.4 million tonnes of primary resources and cut €20 million in costs across more than 18,500 km of road projects. Current customers include Sweco, Ramboll, Bouygues, AECOM, Die Autobahn, the Asian Development Bank and UNIDO. Initially developed as an intrapreneurial venture inside a major construction-materials group, ORIS became a commercial entity in 2021 and is completing its carve-out in 2025. The company plans to accelerate product development, expand internationally and scale its impact with large infrastructure owners. Led by co-founders Nicolas Miravalls (CEO) and Renaud de Montaignac (COO), it operates from Paris with an office in Lyon and representatives across Europe and Asia.
