OvuSense (Fertility Focus)

Unit 12B, Warwick Innovation Centre, Gallows Hill, Warwick, Warwickshire, CV34 6UW, United Kingdom

Overview

Fertility Focus develops OvuSense, an intravaginal monitor that measures core body temperature to detect minute temperature changes that mirror progesterone fluctuations and identify ovulation. The product helps women understand their cycles, diagnose cycle issues, and track the effects of medications. The company has also marketed the FertiloScope, a minimally invasive instrument for early diagnosis and immediate corrective surgery of physical causes of female infertility. Led by CEO Robert Milnes, Fertility Focus says it is continuously developing new technology to support women across stages of their fertility journeys. The company raised $2.7M in a Series A to accelerate commercialization and clinical work. It plans to use the funds to push further commercialization of OvuSense in North America and Europe and to conduct additional clinical trials. Fertility Focus is a Warwick, UK–based company led by CEO Robert Milnes that specializes in fertility diagnosis and treatment. Its core product, OvuSense, is a fertility monitor that identifies and predicts a woman’s fertile period and detects the absence of ovulation; OvuSense has already launched in Europe. The company also offers FertiloScope, a minimally invasive instrument for early diagnosis and immediate corrective surgery of physical causes of female infertility. Fertility Focus raised a seven-figure funding to support its growth. The capital will be used to expand the team and marketing and sales, obtain approval for OvuSense in the United States, and roll out products around the world. Founded in 2005 to license intellectual property from Bristol University, Fertility Focus develops minimally invasive products for diagnosis and treatment of female infertility. The company has developed two products: Fertiloscope, a minimally invasive instrument for early diagnosis and immediate corrective surgery of physical abnormalities (approved for sale in Europe and the USA), and the Advanced Fertility Monitor, which identifies and predicts periods of maximum fertility and can diagnose irregular ovulation. Led by CEO Robert Milnes, the company is establishing offices in the Warwick Technology Park and is based in Warwick, UK. Fertility Focus currently employs two staff and goes to market via a network of agents and distributors in Europe and worldwide. The company intends to use the new financing to complete regulatory approvals for the Advanced Fertility Monitor and to launch it into the European market.
