8920 Business Park Drive Suite 110, Austin, Texas, 78759, United States
Overview
Owlchemy Labs develops hand-interactive virtual-reality games and experiences, best known for the launch title Job Simulator. Founded in 2010 and based in Austin, the studio operates with a 16-person team focused on motion-tracked input interactions to create direct-hand interactions in VR. The team is experimenting aggressively with how users interact with virtual worlds to draw participants in and keep them entranced. Owlchemy says it will apply lessons from its VR work to a portfolio of full games and continue designing new virtual worlds. The company recently announced a Rick and Morty VR project and plans to keep producing its characteristic wacky content. Financially, the studio secured a $5 million Series A led by Qualcomm Ventures with participation from HTC, The VR Fund, Colopl VR Fund and Capital Factory.
