Ownit offers a connected checkout link that overlays a commerce interface on top of social apps, enabling one-tap purchases and supporting Shopify, Amazon and major pay options like Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay and PayPal. The product was tested with 10 beta customers across CPG, cosmetics and nutrition and showed initial lifts: roughly 2x conversion via text marketing and 3x via email marketing. Ownit was founded less than a year ago in San Francisco by Payman Nejati, Evan Shiue and Joel Tan, all with prior checkout experience. The company aims to become the merchant of record and is investing in conversion, customer onboarding and deeper connections across social, commerce and payment platforms. Ownit currently has 11 employees and plans to grow to about 30 by the end of the year.
