The company closed a $13M financing composed of equity and venture debt to fund product and service growth. The equity round was led by current investors Flybridge Capital Partners, New Enterprise Associates and Whitney & Company, while venture debt was provided by Lighthouse Capital Partners. PatientKeeper plans to accelerate development of its physician documentation and CPOE applications in advance of the Meaningful Use requirements of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. The company will also build out service and support capabilities to support its growth. In connection with the financing, PatientKeeper is adding Chip Hazard of Flybridge Capital Partners to its board. CEO Paul Brient said the company made the investment to capitalize on increased demand for applications that drive physician adoption of technology.
