PayQin operates a comprehensive cross-border e-wallet app that lets customers store mobile money, use cross-border debit cards, make payments, and manage crypto transactions from a single interface. Launched in Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Senegal, and Mali, PayQin targets underbanked populations in francophone West Africa and is the first in that region to offer crypto for cross-border payments. The startup aims to create a single payment area for West African countries and plans to open the platform to remittances from Europe to capture large inflows. PayQin is working with Producement to enhance platform quality and is distributing free virtual cards in partnership with Flutterwave to onboard small local merchants. The company is an alum of Startup Wise Guys' fintech batch and has assembled advisers including Iliana Björling Lindeberg to guide marketing and growth. Financially, PayQin announced a €300K seed round that brings total funding to about $1 million and has set a target of reaching one million daily transactions within a year.
