Pelikan Mobility builds a software platform and leasing solution to help commercial fleet operators integrate electric vehicles alongside diesel vehicles. The platform ingests historical fleet data and automatically creates optimization scenarios that account for charging times, diesel and EV charging pricing, range, parking, capex and opex. It can build a digital twin to simulate daily routes, different vehicle designs, and charging-station scenarios. The company says its tooling unlocks new leasing possibilities by enabling longer contracts better suited to commercial vehicles. Pelikan expects to start offering its first leasing plans this summer and plans to raise a debt fund to support that business for large customers. The startup currently has seven customers and tracks slightly less than 100,000 vehicles on its platform. Co-founder and CEO Vincent Schachter is quoted describing the product and leasing rationale.
