Perceptive Space develops machine learning and AI-based space weather forecasting intended to deliver more accurate and near-real-time predictions than legacy government models. Its service targets rocket launch providers, satellite operators and aviation companies that rely on forecasts for operations and human safety. The company has a pilot program with a few early signups providing feedback and plans to convert this into a subscription service offering short- and long-term forecasts with tiered pricing based on asset count and orbit. Perceptive emerged from stealth and currently has five employees, with plans to expand to about ten over the next year. The company says the additional capital will be used to accelerate product development from a bench-scale product to a fully fledged commercial service by next year. Perceptive argues that improved space weather data is critical to scaling LEO satellite operations and supporting sustained human activity in space.
