5068 W Plano Pkwy Ste 290, Plano, Texas, 75093, United States

Overview

PICKUP provides an integrated last-mile delivery platform (PICKUP Enterprise) that enables same-day and scheduled delivery of a retailer’s full assortment, including big, heavy and high-value items. The platform leverages PICKUP’s “Good Guy” two-person delivery and assembly network alongside partner courier services (including Postmates) to offer white-glove and small-parcel fulfillment and manage the end-to-end customer experience. Since launching PICKUP Enterprise in 2020, customers have seen a 2x increase in basket sizes and a 23% conversion lift for Buy Online, Deliver From Store (BODFS). PICKUP currently operates in over 75 U.S. cities and reaches 150 million people, and it partners with national brands such as Big Lots, At Home, Trane and American Standard. The company uses business-intelligence tools (its Perfect Delivery™ algorithm) to track delivery quality, on-time performance and NPS. Management says the new funding will support geographic expansion, broader service offerings and accelerated growth. Pickup provides last mile delivery for large items such as furniture and mattresses using an intelligent platform that can dispatch to the nearest qualified "Good Guys" in as little as 30 seconds. The platform enables retailers to create a delivery experience while capturing decision-quality data to improve business outcomes. Led by CEO Brenda Stoner, the company operates in 26 markets and reaches 100MM consumers. Pickup raised $5M in funding to accelerate market expansion, grow its product platform and add staffing in key areas. The company is Dallas, TX–based and intends to use the new capital to support growth and product development. Operating metrics disclosed include its market footprint (26 markets) and consumer reach (100MM). PICKUP is an on-demand service that connects customers to vetted pickup-truck drivers for moving or hauling items too big for cars or SUVs. Drivers are trust-verified and include off-duty firefighters, military veterans and other vetted individuals; customers' goods are insured for up to $20,000. The service can be ordered online or via the company's app on iTunes and Google Play. PICKUP was founded in 2014 and is based in Dallas. The company previously raised $600,000 in seed funding in June 2015. The latest strategic investments will be used to continue development of PICKUP’s technology platform, expand the service regionally, and enable management to increase its talent pool. PICKUP develops mobile apps and on-demand technology to connect customers and businesses with independently owned pickup trucks and trusted drivers. The platform emphasizes rigorous screening and qualification processes and actively recruits military, veterans and firefighters as drivers. The company has built tools to automate the on-demand service and is continuing technology development. PICKUP launched in the DFW Metroplex and was founded by DFW-based entrepreneurs in 2014. Early adopters have given outstanding reviews for service level, and the company highlights insured, pre-vetted drivers as problem solvers for urgent moving needs. PICKUP is planning national expansion and is positioning its technology to support that growth. The company completed a seed fund round to support these efforts.
