Piction Health operates an AI-driven virtual dermatology clinic that lets patients upload photos and receive a dermatologist-assigned diagnosis and treatment plan within 48 hours. The company began as a mobile app for melanoma image recognition and has built a broader photo-recognition system using a database of over 750,000 images compiled over four years with more than 200 dermatologists in 20 countries. Patients can chat with nurses, receive prescriptions, and the platform charges $119 per visit for new patients while accepting insurers including Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare and Anthem. Piction has served more than 2,000 patients across Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Florida. The startup plans to use the new funding to further enhance its AI platform and expand its reach to additional states to improve access and reduce dermatology wait times.
