The company began as a mobile app for melanoma image recognition and has built a broader photo-recognition system using a database of over 750,000 images compiled over four years with more than 200 dermatologists in 20 countries. Patients can chat with nurses, receive prescriptions, and the platform charges $119 per visit for new patients while accepting insurers including Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare and Anthem. Piction has served more than 2,000 patients across Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Florida.
