Pixevia develops AI-powered retail solutions, including Retail Core, a system that uses standard video cameras to deliver insights on customer behaviour, product availability, pricing, advertising effectiveness, and operations. The company launched what it describes as Europe’s first AI-powered autonomous store in 2020 and has continued to refine its autonomous retail technology. Pixevia was founded in 2011 and is led by founder and CEO Mindaugas Eglinskas. Financially, the company recently closed a €340k bridge round extension following a €1.5M funding round in May 2024. The new funding is intended to accelerate global deployments and allocate resources to specific countries. Pixevia is targeting rollouts in Taiwan, Belgium, Italy, and Poland while bolstering its operations across APAC, Europe and the US. The company positions its technology to improve store efficiency and security and to scale retail automation globally. Pixevia provides a technology platform for AI-driven stores that delivers real-time receipts, app-less tap-in/tap-out shopping, and theft protection across multiple store formats. Its system is designed for high-traffic convenience stores, gas stations, container stores and other venues, and blends brick-and-mortar shopping with e-commerce tactics such as 24/7 operation and deep customer-insight analytics. Pixevia launched its first AI-powered store in Europe in 2019 and since 2021 has worked with IKI to develop five autonomous stores. To date 16 stores have opened serving customers in Europe, the U.S., and the Middle East. The company announced €1.5M in new funding to support expansion and further integration with the larger retail market. Planned uses include expansion across the U.S. and Europe, with a focus on the DACH region and new venues such as sports arenas, university campuses, and airports.
