PLAN3T is a Hamburg-based digital platform and mobile app that rewards environmentally conscious consumers for sustainable purchasing decisions through a points system called ‘Planet Coins’. Users track their ecological footprint and earn Planet Coins via personalized sustainability tips, completed challenges and CO2 offsets, which can be spent with partner companies or donated to climate projects. The company was founded in 2020 by Lukas Wehrhahn, Christian Gärtner and Kaspar Wehrhahn and launched a beta in German app stores in spring 2021. It reports about 6,000 registered users who have avoided or compensated over 250 tons of CO2. PLAN3T has grown a partner network of over 50 sustainable brands, including Enpal, tibber, SodaStream, refurbed, planted, WeShare and TIER. The startup plans expansion into other European countries and to automate transaction matching via an open banking (PSD2) integration, positioning itself in the fintech space. The company announced a €750k pre-seed financing to support its growth and product development.
