Plexe builds artificial-intelligence agents that develop predictive machine-learning models trained on a customer’s own data. The company’s founders are Vaibhav Dubey and Marcello De Bernardi, who previously worked together at Expedia, and Plexe is backed by Y Combinator. Its tools target enterprises across retail, e-commerce, banking and financial services, and cybersecurity, with use cases such as product recommendations, identifying high-value customers, and improving customer service. Plexe has worked with about 15 clients, is in discussion with roughly 10 more, and says it has secured six-figure annual contracts with just the two founders. After raising its $2.1 million seed, the startup plans to hire engineers, set up an AI engineering lab, and accelerate customer acquisition as it prepares for a Series A within one to two years. The company is based in London, plans a presence in San Francisco and potentially India, and is prioritising data protection—aiming to obtain SOC 2 certification in the next one and a half months.
