Overview
Pluggy provides Open Finance connectivity and data intelligence to allow businesses to access and use financial, banking and commercial data. The company closed a seed round of about R$10 million to accelerate product development and expand its data scope. It plans to build new connectors and machine‑learning models to simplify and democratize use of Open Finance for customers with limited analytical capability. Pluggy says it will invest most of the funding in growing its engineering and customer‑success teams to improve the product and experience for its more than 70 clients. The company was accelerated by Banco Central’s Lift Lab and by Y Combinator, and established a partnership with B3 in February 2022. Pluggy aims to become a principal hub of financial data intelligence in Brazil as Open Finance adoption grows. Pluggy offers API technology that allows fintechs and corporations to access customers' financial history and behavior to create competitive, personalized services while guaranteeing user privacy. Its platform supports use cases such as better credit offers, personal finance management, alternative credit scoring and tailored investment recommendations. The company positions itself to democratize access to financial data and reduce informational asymmetry as part of Brazil's transition to Open Finance. Pluggy was created in 2020 by Bruno Loiola, Rogério Correa and Victor Braga together with Federico Mirás and Gabriel Pan Gantes, bringing integration technology from Europe to Brazil. It has participated in accelerator programs including Oxigênio Aceleradora, Liga Ventures, Lift Lab (Banco Central) and Plug and Play. Pluggy reports a client portfolio of 12 customers and a team of 20 employees, and has contracts with clients such as Kinvo (recently acquired by BTG Pactual).
