Pngme

930 Alabama St, San Francisco, California, 94110, United States

Overview

Pngme offers a data infrastructure stack that includes an API, a mobile SDK, a customer management platform and an Insights Library to help fintechs and banks collect, unify and analyze alternative financial data. The company positions itself as machine learning-as-a-service, layering predictive credit and segmentation models on merged data from banks and third-party connectors. Pngme is active in Nigeria, Kenya and Ghana and is San Francisco- and Africa-based. Its infrastructure has processed billions of data points from hundreds of financial institutions across sub-Saharan Africa. The company plans to use new funding to acquire customers, expand third-party data connections, double down on its Insights Library and grow its data science, engineering and sales teams. It has also announced executive hires including Lorraine Kageni Maina as CSO and Nick Masson as CTO, and the round brings total funding to $18.5 million. Pngme aggregates mobile money transactions, bank transactions, loan and behavioural data, structures it, and serves it through an easy-to-integrate API and an SDK that collects user-permissioned data. The platform emphasizes high-coverage channels like USSD and supplements raw data with machine-learning insights and real-time alerts. Its revenue model is subscription- and API-call–driven, with free developer tiers, enterprise pricing, and a white-glove onboarding service. Pngme processes millions of data points per month and reported 300% month-on-month growth in Q4 2020, forecasting hundreds of thousands to millions of user-permissioned data profiles by 2022. Customers include SimpleFi, Pavelon, ReadyCash, CashTopUp and Rigo Microfinance, and the company plans integrations with large institutional banks. It is scaling engineering and data-science teams in Lagos and Nairobi to build products for banks, mobile money operators and fintechs.
