Pocketed is a Vancouver-based fintech that offers a grant, tax-credit and business-incentive matching platform plus a services marketplace to help companies apply. The core product, launched in February, identifies eligible grants and tax credits and connects businesses to grant writers, lenders and legal teams through a marketplace. Pocketed is free to use and monetizes via premium tiers and transaction fees from its marketplace, which represent its main revenue. The startup says it has helped over 2,000 small-to-medium-sized businesses secure more than $10 million in grant funding and has inked over 60 strategic alliances and attracted 60+ vendors including Stratesol, Ayming, and Boast.ai. Founded in 2020 by Brianna Blaney and Aria Hahn, the team initially built the company with grant funding and pivoted from prior work on DeepND. Pocketed is executing a US pilot with Clearco and plans a US expansion focused on e-commerce and tech companies in markets such as Massachusetts and California; headcount is 14 with plans to add two more.
