Launched in 2018 in the UK and Singapore and led by CEO Vincent Choi, the company has a regional headquarters in Singapore and an expanded presence across Europe and Asia. Pomelo is a Mastercard principal issuing member, authorized to issue payment cards to SME customers and make direct settlements with Mastercard. Its system combines QR code, API and NFC technology to support in-person payments, payment links, online shops, contactless table ordering and menu makers. The company serves customers across sectors including construction and trades, food and drink, and travel and hospitality. Led by CEO and co‑founder Vincent Choi, Pomelo Pay has offices in London and Singapore and plans to expand its presence across Europe and Asia. It intends to use the £2.1m seed funds to grow its offering, expand its team and build on its international reach. In September it was selected to join Tech Nation’s Fintech 3.0 growth programme for UK fintechs.
