Overview
PowerLinks operates a programmatic native advertising marketplace that runs over 6 billion auctions each day and uses its "Personal Relevance" data to match ads to precisely defined customer interest profiles. Ads are visually styled in real time to align with surrounding webpages and mobile apps, delivering a native, non-intrusive experience intended to improve engagement and lower customer acquisition costs. The marketplace surpassed 4,000 advertising campaigns from 140 connected advertisers and delivered 112% year-on-year revenue growth. PowerLinks has integrated 56 analytics, audience data and media vendors and is adding AI and cognitive services to its context-focused Personal Relevance Platform while ensuring GDPR compliance. The company has strengthened ties with Microsoft, graduating Cohort 7 of the Microsoft Accelerator program, and recently expanded into Amsterdam and Berlin. The new capital will accelerate U.S. expansion and additions across sales, client services and technology teams and support rollouts in dozens of new markets. PowerLinks is an ad tech company founded in September 2011 by Kevin Flood and Mike Harty that converts keywords within editorial copy into text links which display relevant advertisements on hover. Its platform offers pay-as-you-click or per-1,000-impression pricing, aiming to give clients the control of an ad server alongside targeted in‑content advertising. Since launch it has signed more than 800 websites and claims to serve around two billion ad impressions per month worldwide. The company reported revenues of £850,000 in 2013. PowerLinks positions itself in the growing native advertising market and says it will use new funding to continue innovating its platform and scale trading between buyers and sellers. Management highlights ongoing US expansion as a key focus for the investment.
