Identitypass provides identity verification and KYC services via APIs and a newly launched SaaS platform, connecting customers to 18 verification data points including government IDs, BVN, phone numbers and biometrics. The company serves about 200 active businesses across fintech, e-commerce, education and mobility in Nigeria, the U.K., Kenya, the U.S. and India. Since launch it has processed more than 1 million unique verifications and charges between $0.10 and $0.20 per verification depending on endpoints used. Identitypass began as a payments-authentication project before pivoting to a verification-focused product and differentiates itself by offering both API and SaaS solutions and a broader set of data points and biometrics usage. The team is 14 people and plans to expand infrastructure, add verticals around compliance, security and data collection, push into new African countries and hire additional staff. Its core aim is to help digital businesses in Africa and abroad perform stringent identity checks to reduce fraud and meet compliance needs.
