Founded in 2020 by former FundsIndia executives Srikanth Meenakshi, Vidya Bala and Bhavana Acharya, PrimeInvestor began as a platform for investment research and portfolio review for retail investors. The company reports roughly 63,000 registered users and says it has reviewed over 12,000 portfolios with aggregate assets exceeding ₹25,000 crore. In January 2026 PrimeInvestor launched a discretionary PMS business with a fee-only, zero-commission model and a ₹50 lakh minimum investment, offering three strategies: Prime Vision (multi-asset mutual fund), Prime Synergy (mutual funds plus direct equities) and Prime Velocity (equity-focused multi-cap). With the recent ₹19.5 crore investment from Rainmatter Capital, PrimeInvestor plans to scale its PMS business, strengthen research capabilities, expand product offerings and enhance its technology platform for client acquisition and servicing. The company intends to use insights from its portfolio reviews to focus the PMS on asset allocation, risk management and disciplined rebalancing to improve investor outcomes.
