Promimic develops and markets an implant surface technology designed to accelerate osseointegration. Its core product, the HANANO™ Surface, converts regular implant surfaces from biocompatible to osteoconductive and can be applied to metals, ceramics and polymers. The modification is effective regardless of implant dimensions and structure. The company's platform is based on research performed at Chalmers University of Technology by founders Dr. Martin Andersson and Dr. Per Kjellin, and Promimic was incorporated in 2004. Promimic raised SEK 10m in equity funding and intends to use the proceeds to expand operations in Sweden and abroad. Investors in the round included Almi Invest, Karolinska Development and a number of business angels.
