Provizio develops a combined hardware and software car safety platform that uses sensors and AI to perceive, predict and prevent accidents. Its five-dimensional sensory technology, branded the Accident Prevention Technology Platform, combines proprietary vision sensors, machine learning and radar with ultra-long range and foresight capabilities to operate in real time and beyond line-of-sight. The platform is designed to prevent collisions at high speed and in all weather conditions. The team includes experts in robotics, AI and vision and radar sensor development, and features Dr. Scott Thayer and Prof. Jeff Mishler, formerly of Carnegie Mellon, who worked on early autonomous technologies for Google/Waymo, Argo, Aurora and Uber. Provizio recently closed a $6.2M seed investment round. CEO Barry Lunn said the company aims to drive road deaths toward zero and views AI-on-the-edge with 5D radars as a first step toward that goal.
