Overview
Founded in 2018, PureSpace is a food-tech company that has created a proprietary catalyst system capable of lowering ethylene concentrations by more than 90%, dramatically slowing the ripening and spoilage of fruits and vegetables. In pilots with Carrefour, Lotte Mart, and the largest U.S. retailer, the technology cut food waste by over 50% and doubled the shelf-life of certain items. The firm currently offers two product lines—one for in-store cold rooms and small warehouses and another for large distribution centers. PureSpace plans to launch models for shipping containers and transportation vehicles starting in 2026, expanding its reach across the cold-chain. Rising global ESG mandates, such as the EU’s 2030 food-waste targets, position the company’s solution as a timely answer to regulatory and profitability pressures faced by retailers. Although specific revenue figures were not disclosed, the demonstrated waste-reduction metrics translate to immediate financial savings for grocery chains. The new capital will accelerate global market expansion, bolster sales hiring, and fund next-generation product development.
