PW (PhysicsWallah) builds low-cost test-prep and educational content delivered online and through physical learning centres. The company charges students as little as $4 and has amassed tens of thousands of paying subscribers alongside claims of over 6 million students reached and nearly 7 million YouTube subscribers. PW runs both online and offline classes and employs more than 1,900 people, including roughly 500 teachers and over 200 associate professors who support students. The startup says it has been profitable since inception, reporting ninefold revenue growth in 2021–2022 versus 2020–2021 and a FY2023 run rate of $65 million. PW says 10,000+ students cracked competitive exams like NEET and JEE in 2020 and 2021 using its content. The company is expanding content into nine vernacular languages (Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Odia, Malayalam and Kannada) and plans to use new funds to open more physical learning centres.
