372 Vallejo St Apt 5, San Francisco, California, 94123, United States
Overview
Quilt Data offers a search engine-style platform that indexes data in AWS S3 so data scientists can quickly find datasets and associated assets (for example, Jupyter notebooks). The company launched out of stealth with a free portal exposing 3.7 petabytes of public data across 23 S3 repositories comprising more than 10 billion objects, including Amazon review data and satellite imagery. Results return both the raw data and surrounding context to simplify use in machine learning workflows. Quilt provides a commercial product available in the Amazon Marketplace and charges a flat $550 per month per S3 bucket, plus an enterprise tier at $999 per month per bucket with priority support, custom features and onboarding. The free public portal is being used to demonstrate the platform’s capabilities and to drive conversion to the paid offering. Quilt was founded in 2015 and participated in Y Combinator’s Summer 2017 cohort.
