Radical Forge is a Middlesbrough-based games studio that develops its own titles, operates a publishing division and undertakes contract work for other developers. The studio has contributed to games including Gang Beasts, Sea of Thieves, Golf With Your Friends and Zombie Army 4, and its first launch, the murder-mystery puzzle Bright Paw, was published in 2020. Radical Forge recently raised funding to accelerate growth and will use the proceeds to expand its team, create 15 jobs, pursue larger contracts and launch its own game, Southfield, early next year. Southfield is described as a farming game set on a fantasy island where players can grow crops, experiment with machinery and build a homestead. Leadership says the investment will help the studio realise ambitions for the team while preserving its culture. The company is positioning itself to attract talent amid wider industry downsizing and to win larger, more complex projects.
