Overview
Rapid Medical develops responsive, adjustable neurovascular devices for endovascular diseases, with a focus on minimally invasive treatment of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke. The company’s flagship TIGERTRIEVER revascularization device received FDA clearance for treatment of ischemic stroke. TIGERTRIEVER 13 is CE marked and is the smallest device in the portfolio, indicated for removal of clots from more distal areas of the brain; TIGERTRIEVER 13 is not FDA cleared. TIGERTRIEVER 17 and 21, COMANECI and COLUMBUS/DRIVEWIRE are CE marked and FDA cleared. Rapid Medical uses a proprietary braiding technology platform and plans to expand commercial operations in the US and Europe, generate additional clinical evidence, advance its product pipeline, and pursue regulatory approvals in strategic territories such as China. Rapid Medical develops interventional neurovascular devices for endovascular treatments and is led by CEO and co-founder Ronen Eckhouse. The company makes TIGERTRIEVER, a controllable, fully visible stentriever for ischemic stroke, and COMANECI, a controllable aneurysm neck-bridging device. Both TIGERTRIEVER and COMANECI are CE marked for use in Europe. Rapid Medical intends to use the Series C proceeds to develop a U.S. commercial presence ahead of regulatory approvals, expand sales and marketing in Europe, and develop additional products. It will also support completion of the TIGER IDE study in the U.S., which has been enrolling patients since May 2018. The company has entered a partnership granting MicroPort marketing rights for TIGERTRIEVER and COMANECI in China. Rapid Medical, led by Dr. Shimon Eckhouse, develops neurovascular interventional devices including TIGERTRIEVER and COMANECI. TIGERTRIEVER is a visible and controllable stentriever designed to treat ischemic stroke, while COMANECI is an aneurysm collar bridging device. Both devices are CE marked and have been used in neurovascular procedures for thousands of patients in Europe. The company closed a $9M Series B financing round to support regulatory and commercial efforts. Rapid Medical intends to use the funds to facilitate U.S. regulatory approvals and to pursue marketing of the two devices in the European market. As part of the financing, investor representatives will join the company's board.
