Vimi uses proprietary AI models to provide individualized, curriculum-aligned math tutoring to K-12 students through short, one-on-one sessions. The system continuously adapts via feedback loops, allowing the company to replace human tutors with a lower-cost, scalable alternative. Currently in beta, Vimi is tailoring content to specific U.S. school districts while preparing for a national app-store launch. The Tel Aviv-based startup was founded by Roy Bick and Nir Erez, the creators of Moovit, which Intel acquired for $900 million in 2020. Although it is starting with mathematics, management plans to extend the technology to additional subjects over time. Vimi just secured significant seed capital to accelerate product rollout and market testing. Industry data cited in the article notes that B2C ed-tech startups closed 94 seed rounds totaling $191.7 million in 2025, with a median deal size of $1.65 million, positioning Vimi’s $12 million raise well above the norm.
- V-Wave
Participated · Series C · Dec 2021
V-Wave develops the Ventura interatrial shunt, an hourglass-shaped tube that creates a small passageway between the heart’s upper chambers to relieve atrial pressure and reduce pulmonary congestion. The device has an FDA breakthrough designation and received a CE mark in Europe in early 2020. Ventura is being tested in an international, randomized trial of about 500 medicated heart failure patients with reduced or preserved ejection fraction. A secondary open-label arm of roughly 100 early participants has completed enrollment and is expected to deliver one-year follow-up data in 2022. CEO Neal Eigler said the open-label arm demonstrated ease and success of implantation, safety, shunt durability and patency, and improved quality-of-life metrics. The company is also developing a next-generation adjustable-size shunt to tailor shunting at implant and over time. V-Wave is a privately held medical device company based in Caesarea, Israel, led by CEO Dr. Neal Eigler. The company has developed a proprietary, minimally invasive implanted interatrial shunt device for treating patients with severe symptomatic heart failure. V-Wave has received FDA approval to initiate a pivotal IDE study and is launching the RELIEVE-HF global, randomized, controlled, double-blinded multicenter clinical trial. RELIEVE-HF will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the device in HF patients with Class III or ambulatory Class IV symptoms with preserved or reduced ejection fraction already receiving optimal therapies. V-Wave closed a $70M Series C to fund ongoing development and trial activities. Strategic and corporate backers, including Johnson & Johnson Innovation and Edwards Lifesciences, participated in the financing, reflecting industry support. V-Wave Ltd. is a Caesarea, Israel-based medical device company developing a proprietary implantable, interatrial shunt for the treatment of heart failure. The device is implanted trans-venously and placed in the atrial septum where it remains, regulating left atrial pressure by shunting excess blood volume away from the left ventricle. The device is intended for use in patients with chronic symptomatic heart failure. The company completed a $28M Series B financing to support its programs. V-Wave plans to use the funds for clinical evaluation and development, addition of senior management, and manufacturing scale-up of its minimally invasive device. The company is led by Dr. Neal Eigler, MD, CEO.
- Flytrex
Led · Series C · Nov 2021
Flytrex develops its own delivery aircraft and accompanying control software to provide backyard drop-and-go deliveries in suburban areas. The company runs pilots with partners including Walmart and Chili’s and has U.S. pilots in Fayetteville and Raeford, North Carolina. Flytrex is pursuing FAA certification to have its aircraft certified as commercial airplanes, and the CEO said the company estimates national approval by the first half of next year. Its aircraft are currently approved in North Carolina to fly one nautical mile, while the designs have a range of about three miles each direction. Flytrex has mapped more than 80 million backyards and operates a cloud fleet-management stack that trains local “flight operators” drawn from existing delivery fleets. Since February 2021 the company says order volume has increased more than tenfold, with thousands of deliveries to date. Flytrex is a Tel Aviv-based food and retail drone delivery company operating autonomous urban delivery systems. It launched the world’s first autonomous urban drone delivery system in Reykjavik in 2017 and has run U.S. pilots, including a Walmart pilot in Fayetteville, NC and earlier tests in Grand Forks, ND. The company has participated in the FAA’s UAS Integration Pilot Program since 2018 and was listed in 2020 among companies set to obtain FAA airworthiness certification. Flytrex’s core product is on-demand, contactless drone delivery for groceries and household items. The recent funding is intended to expand its U.S. footprint and to increase production and R&D capabilities. Financially, Flytrex has raised $20.3 million to date and recently added $8 million in investment plus an Israeli Innovation Authority grant, bringing new funds available to $9.3 million. Flytrex is a Tel Aviv, Israel-based drone technology company that provides comprehensive autonomous drone delivery systems. Led by CEO and co-founder Yariv Bash, Flytrex enables businesses from SMBs to e-commerce giants to integrate same-day autonomous drone delivery. Its end-to-end drone logistics service includes drones, a cloud-based drone management system, insurance, maintenance and regulatory support to facilitate deployments. The company operates drone delivery services in Iceland and North Dakota and is preparing for a 2019 North Carolina launch as part of the U.S. FAA’s UAS Integration Pilot Program. Flytrex intends to use the funds to scale operations and technology and improve its existing services. As of the Series B, the company has raised a total of $11m. Flytrex builds a cloud-based tracking and management platform and custom drone hardware to enable commercial point-to-point and point-to-area deliveries. Its platform targets delivery companies and large retailers and combines fleet tracking with drones designed to lower packages via cables rather than landing. The company began by making a 'black box'-style flight recorder and cloud service for personal drones and has shifted focus to commercial delivery projects. Reported projects include electronic parts delivery in Europe, lifesaving drug delivery in Africa, and a parcel-delivery partnership with Ukraine’s national postal service, UkrPoshta. Flytrex positions drone deliveries as a long-term, disruptive opportunity and projects the market could be worth $100B in the years to come. The startup recently raised $3M to build out its solution and faces regulatory hurdles such as air-traffic management and consumer safety as it scales.
