Founded in 2024 by four Ca’ Foscari University professors, Rara Factory has built a proprietary platform that merges artificial intelligence with large-scale experimental materials physics. The system enables the synthesis and characterisation of more than one hundred new compounds a day and has already generated and tested nearly 10,000 novel materials. This capability produces a unique, rapidly expanding dataset aimed at solving critical raw-material shortages in energy, mobility and aerospace industries. The company has landed its first commercial contract and forged collaboration agreements with leading Italian and international corporates. Participation in the 2024 Motor Valley Accelerator further validated its technology and market potential. Backed by a €3.2 million seed round, Rara Factory plans to invest in advanced laboratory infrastructure and instrumentation to broaden its high-throughput experimental capacity. The ultimate goal is to compress material discovery cycles from years to days, enabling faster industrial implementation and reduced dependence on rare earths.
