Overview
RAW Pressery's core business is juices and smoothies. The firm has recently introduced categories including nut milk, soups and probiotic dairy drinks and plans to scale these in FY19. Scaling new categories and expanding distribution domestically and into markets such as the Middle East and Southeast Asia are key growth priorities. The company said the debt capital will aid capacity expansion this year. RAW Pressery reported revenue of about Rs 32 crore in FY18 and was targeting 112% growth in FY19. People familiar with operations said it was on track to close FY19 with roughly $10 million (about Rs 68 crore) and expects to cross Rs 100 crore turnover over the next two years. The brand planned to increase retail touch points in India to about 6,000 by the end of FY19 from roughly 2,000 in May. RAW Pressery is a clean-label beverage company offering juices, soups, smoothies, nut milk and hydration products. Founded in 2014 and led by Managing Director Anuj Rakyan, the company is based in Mumbai, India. It sells in 15 Indian cities and in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha. In India the brand is available at 1,600 points of sale. RAW Pressery plans to use new funding for cold chain logistics capital expenditure, to expand headcount, and for marketing as it targets the Middle East (including the UAE and Saudi Arabia). The company also intends to launch dairy products. Raw Pressery makes cold-pressed juices delivered to homes in six Indian cities through a subscription model. The company says it is the only firm in India using HPP (high pressure processing) to package fresh juices without preservatives, additives, or pasteurization. Founder Anuj Rakyan started the business last year after researching nutrition during recovery from a serious back injury. Raw Pressery plans to launch an e-commerce operation, expand distribution to brick-and-mortar stores, and enter the Middle East and Southeast Asia. It intends to broaden its product lineup with soups, smoothies, and other pre-packaged foods positioned as a "clean label" lifestyle brand without added preservatives or sugar. Financially, the company has raised venture funding totaling $6.3M, including a new $4.5M Series B.
