Saama Capital II, is an India focused venture capital fund and is the independent successor fund to SVB India Capital Partners, I (“SICP”). SICP has been successfully investing in Indian companies since 2006 following a collaborative partner driven approach with diversification across stage and sector. Saama Capital is the same team, with the same strategy as SICP, but under a new identity.

In March 2025, Temasek-owned Fullerton Financial acquired a 56% majority stake, positioning the firm for further expansion. The newly announced capital will fund growth initiatives across Lendingkart and its wholly owned subsidiary, Lendingkart Finance, as well as general corporate purposes. Post-transaction, Fullerton Financial’s ownership will rise to 58.35%, with earlier backers such as Bertelsmann Nederland, Mayfield India, and Saama Capital retaining significant minority stakes. Prior to the latest round, Lendingkart had raised Rs 1,050 crore (about $126 million) in equity funding from many of the same investors.
