Rebel is a Sao Paulo, Brazil-based digital consumer finance startup serving middle-class customers with unsecured, no-personal-guarantee loans at low interest rates. It leverages technology and big data to perform precise assessments of each consumer’s financial behavior. Loan amounts range from BRL 1,000 to BRL 25,000 with maturities up to 24 months. The company intends to use the new funds to invest in technology, create new products and improve distribution channels to grow its customer base. This raise follows a USD 4 million round a year earlier from XP and others. Rebel was founded in 2017 by André Bastos, Paulo Nunes, and Rafael Pereira.
