Hajdrihova ulica 19, Ljubljana, 1000, Slovenia
Overview
ReCatalyst develops polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cell catalysts using a nanotech platform to produce next‑generation intermetallic platinum‑alloy catalysts. The company is a spin‑out from the National Institute of Chemistry in Ljubljana and is led by CEO Tomaž Bizjak and CTO Dr. Matija Gatalo. Its core mission is to enable optimized usage of platinum group metals and to expedite decarbonization of the energy and transport sectors. ReCatalyst intends to use the €1.7M seed funds to enhance market readiness and accelerate process development for its PEM catalysts. Its foundations were developed within publicly funded projects including the ERC Proof of Concept 'StableCat', the EIT Raw Materials Accelerator and the EIC Transition 'ENABLER'. The company raised seed financing from institutional and strategic backers to advance its technology toward commercialization.
