Overview

Regard builds AI software that mines thousands of data points in a patient’s medical chart and presents findings to help clinicians detect missed conditions and make diagnoses more efficiently. The product launched in 2021 and is used by multiple large health systems, including Banner Health, Sentara Healthcare, Montefiore Medical Center and Cedars‑Sinai Medical Center. Hospitals also use Regard to identify additional billing and coding opportunities, which the company says drives clear financial ROI for clients. Regard competes with offerings such as 3M’s Engage One and startup Pieces. The company reported 4.5x revenue growth in 2023 and expects a similar growth rate this year. Leadership says Regard is on a path to reach profitability within the next two years. Regard builds a medical “co‑pilot” platform that analyzes electronic health records to recognize roughly 50 common conditions, including heart failure, COVID-19, pneumonia, sepsis, and mental-health disorders. Its algorithm was developed by a team of physicians and engineers, is checked by physicians before deployment, and the company sets an internal 90% accuracy bar before going live. Regard integrates with major EMRs via partnerships with Epic and Cerner and has revenue‑sharing agreements with both. The product is designed to complement patient records and save physicians time on note-taking while surfacing conditions that might otherwise be missed. It is currently used by 15 hospitals, contracted with 84 more, has been applied to 30,000 patients, and has identified over 420,000 conditions. The company says the Series A capital will be used to increase the number of clients. HealthTensor is a Los Angeles-based AI company that provides a software platform acting as a layer of intelligence between physicians and raw patient data. Led by co-founder and CEO Eli Ben-Joseph, the platform uses advanced algorithms for AI-enabled diagnosis. The software is currently integrated within several hospitals and the company plans to expand to many more in the coming months. HealthTensor reports it has helped physicians write more than 2,000 notes and identified overlooked medical conditions in 95% of cases. The company raised $5M in a seed round and intends to use the funds to scale its software engineering and implementation teams.
