Remora plans to use new capital to enhance its autonomous net-cleaning technology, expedite deployments, and upscale sales efforts. It has cultivated partnerships with SINTEF, the Norwegian Research Council, NTNU and Innovation Norway to support development and validation. Founded in 2015 and based in Stavanger, the company progressed from an initial prototype in 2018 to a validated functional prototype in 2019 (validated by NORCE) and further upgraded prototypes and field tests through 2021.
