Remora Robotics develops an autonomous submarine robot that cleans and assesses fish-farm pens while collecting environmental data. The company focuses on automating net-cleaning processes for aquaculture and has patented its belt mechanism. Remora plans to use new capital to enhance its autonomous net-cleaning technology, expedite deployments, and upscale sales efforts. Founded in 2015 and based in Stavanger, the company progressed from an initial prototype in 2018 to a validated functional prototype in 2019 (validated by NORCE) and further upgraded prototypes and field tests through 2021.
