Rempex Pharmaceuticals is a San Diego, CA-based biopharmaceutical company developing internally discovered treatments for resistant gram-negative infections. Its lead programs are advancing toward regulatory filings, with an NDA for the first product candidate expected in the second half of 2012 and an IND for a second candidate expected in the first quarter of 2012. The company completed the initial closing of a $67.5M Series B financing. New investors Frazier Healthcare Ventures and Vivo Ventures joined existing backers SV Life Sciences, OrbiMed Advisors and Adams Street Partners in the round. Together with its prior Series A, the financing brings Rempex's total committed funding to $76M since its founding in June 2011. Management says the financing provides the resources to advance its development programs toward commercialization.
