Resortecs
23 Quai Fernand Demets, 3rd floor, Brussels, 1070, Belgium
Overview
Founded in 2017, Belgian startup Resortecs has created Smart Stitch, a sewing thread and detachable rivet that melt at high temperatures, and Smart Disassembly, a low-oxygen oven that separates whole garments in roughly 12 minutes without damaging the fabric. The technology is already used by denim brand HNST and sporting-goods giant Decathlon. Resortecs claims its process is 15 times faster than conventional, labor-intensive recycling methods and recovers twice as much usable material compared with mechanical recycling. With the new capital, the company plans to install five decentralized disassembly lines across Europe within five years, lifting its annual processing capacity to 3,000 tonnes by 2027. Resortecs has previously won the H&M Foundation Global Change Award (2018), the Female Founder Challenge (2022) and the Henry van de Velde Award (2023). Prior to the current round, it had secured €1.8 million in 2021 and €2.5 million in 2022. The latest €6 million raise brings its total funding above €10 million.
