Overview
reTyre is a Norwegian deep-tech startup that has spent more than a decade developing a patented injection-moulding process that makes bicycle tyres in fully automated, clean-room conditions. The technology cuts CO₂ emissions by up to 80 percent, generates no production dust, and produces tyres that are completely recyclable at end of life. Its modular micro-factory concept allows tyre manufacturing to be located next to bicycle OEM assembly lines, reducing shipping distances and costs while improving supply-chain resilience. The company is moving from advanced development to scaled manufacturing, installing its first fully automated production cell in Norway and planning a second facility in Asia in 2026. Beyond the utility segment it already serves, reTyre is entering high-performance utility tyres through a co-development partnership with global leader Vittoria. Management cites a large existing order book and a clear path to profitability, an uncommon position for hardware-heavy climate ventures. The firm was founded by Paul Magne Amundsen together with Sigmund Andenes and Alexander Gjørven.
