RideCo builds a SaaS platform that dynamically routes buses and shuttles and provides rider-facing apps to enable on-demand transit for cities, agencies, fleet operators and corporate shuttles. The software creates dynamic routes by directing vehicles to next pickup and drop-off zones based on demand and supports advance, real-time and recurring bookings. Customers include cities such as San Antonio, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Calgary, Houston and smaller towns like Cobourg, Ontario. The company says its customer base grew 2x over the last year, and that the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated adoption as agencies sought more flexible services. RideCo has improved product-market fit after early pilots and competes with Via; the two companies filed patent infringement lawsuits against each other last year. The new capital will be used to further develop the product and substantially grow engineering, customer service, sales and marketing teams.
