Overview
Riverkin is an ETH Zürich spin-off building a Water Data Ecosystem (WDE) that pairs proprietary, ultra-low-power Smart Sensors with analytics software to monitor water flow, temperature, sediment and conductivity in real time. Designed during founder Jessica Droujko’s PhD, the sensors are rugged enough for remote regions and stream continuous data to a cloud platform that generates actionable insights for industry and government customers. The company has already shipped 60 sensors worldwide and is collecting continuous field data across Switzerland. Revenue figures were not disclosed, but pilot projects with early adopters are under way in priority watersheds. With its recent capital infusion, Riverkin plans to expand deployments, strengthen platform integrations, and pursue certifications that will enable repeatable sales. Funds will also support further IP development and refinement of predictive models. Ultimately, the startup aims to reduce pollution, improve freshwater management, and mitigate financial risks tied to water scarcity.
