Roon

110 Greene St, Ste 407, New York, 10012, United States

Overview

Roon builds a platform that serves as a guide for health, aiming to bridge the gap between the care people need and information they can trust. Launched 18 months ago, the company has already guided families through serious illnesses, supported couples navigating IVF, and connected women with treatments for PCOS and endometriosis. Roon partners with physicians from over 50 institutions, including Harvard, Stanford, UCSF, Weill Cornell and Columbia, to scale clinical expertise beyond the clinic. The company intends to use the Series A proceeds to expand the platform to cover hundreds of conditions, including women’s health, cancer, neurology, metabolic health and pediatrics. Roon raised $15M in a Series A led by FirstMark Capital and Forerunner Ventures, with participation from early investors including TMV and Sequoia Capital. Roon offers a medical-education platform that curates vetted information around individual conditions, sourcing content strictly from doctors, patients, and caregivers. Users receive organized "medical starter kits" for general understanding and can ask specific questions via an FAQ or direct queries. Founders include neurosurgeon Rohan Ramakrishna and former Pinterest executives Vikram Bhaskaran and Arun Ranganathan. The company launched just over a year ago and currently focuses on glioblastoma content, serving about 200 active users. Roon plans to expand its condition coverage to dementia, pediatric cancers, and ALS and to grow its team. The founders say the platform aims to humanize medicine and better meet the needs of both patients and caregivers.
