Rupa Health built a prototype lab portal that lets doctors access thousands of tests from over 20 different lab companies and provides a one-stop shop for ordering specialty lab work. The platform helps clinicians handle samples and deliver results, simplifying processes that would otherwise require juggling contacts across multiple labs. The company was cofounded in 2018 by Tara Viswanathan, Rosa Hamalainen and Ben Easton and released its platform in January 2020. Rupa's service is already being used in clinics across the United States. With its recent seed financing, the company plans to expand into more doctors' offices and make improvements to the platform to improve the practitioner and patient experience. Rupa also intends to continue helping patients find mobile phlebotomists to simplify sample collection.
