According to the company, gross transaction volume is growing about 25 percent month-over-month, underscoring rapid adoption. • Tres

    Participated · Seed · Sep 2022

Tres is a comprehensive accounting and financial data reporting platform for crypto assets that operates as a Web3 financial data lake. Led by CEO Tal Zackon, the platform manages financial end‑points across 100+ Web3 networks and enables organizations to streamline accounting, auditing, and reporting. Its customers include Web3 finance teams, foundations and DAOs, asset managers, exchanges, financial institutions, and staking providers. Tres offers solutions for tracking, monitoring, and reporting all financial activity across every blockchain. The company has offices in London and New York and plans to use new funding to expand adoption of its solutions. Tres provides a unified "data lake" that ingests on-chain and centralized finance data across wallets, accounts and platforms so finance teams at crypto companies can run balance calculations, auditing and reporting without crypto-native expertise. Its platform can onboard any on-chain or CEX data source and enable workflows for monitoring on-ramps and off-ramps. The startup says it can pull transactions from multiple chains and wallets into one dataset that can be sliced for financial analysis. Tres has monitored and analyzed more than $40 billion of crypto assets for customers including Hivemind Capital, Stakely and Blockdaemon across the U.S., Israel and Europe. The new capital will be used to hire and further develop the product while onboarding customers and expanding use cases. Management positions the company as a prospective "financial backbone" for crypto organizations and says the current bearish market is increasing demand for clearer financial visibility.

  • Pomelo

    Participated · Seed · Aug 2022

Pomelo operates a financial technology platform that combines international money movement and consumer credit, offering a remittance product that lets customers send funds immediately using secured or unsecured credit lines. The company launched in 2022 with the Philippines as its first corridor and has since added payment options, including the ability to send funds to GCash. Pomelo also issues the Pomelo Card through Coastal Community Bank under Mastercard licensing. It raised a $35M Series A in venture capital and a $75M expansion of its warehouse facility. The financing brought Pomelo's totals to $55M in equity capital and $125M for its warehouse facility to date. The company says it will use the funds to expand operations and further development efforts. Pomelo issues accounts that can include up to four credit cards so senders can provide credit to family members, set limits, pause cards and view spending. Its core twist is using credit to provide instant access to funds, fraud and chargeback protection, and a way for recipients to build transaction history and credit. The product includes a credit-builder option and invites customers to supply a secure deposit to prove creditworthiness over time. Pomelo’s revenue model avoids transfer fees for senders and instead relies on merchant interchange fees. The company has secured a Mastercard partnership that the founder says enables work in more than 100 countries and is currently servicing the Philippines. Pomelo reports more than 120,000 people on its waitlist and plans to expand to Mexico, India and other geographies. Pomelo offers a unified product that helps U.S. users build credit while sending fee-free remittances to family overseas. Its flagship Pomelo Card is powered by the Mastercard network and issued by Coastal Community Bank, and a mobile app will be available on Android and iOS. The company will offer a Pomelo Secured Card for users with low or no credit, allowing deposits that convert into a secured credit line to help build credit history. Families abroad can join as authorized users on a family plan and receive personalized Pomelo Cards for online and in-person purchases. Customers can reserve cards ahead of the company’s official product launch and account openings later in the year; initial remittance support will launch to the Philippines with India and Mexico to follow. Pomelo is led by founder and CEO Eric Velasquez Frenkiel, and intends to use new funding to expand operations and continue product development.
