S.Lab makes eco-friendly packaging and decorations from mycelium and hemp stalks that the founders say are 100% biodegradable and decompose in soil within a month. The startup was founded in 2020 by Julia Bialetska and Yevhenii Tomylin and is based in Ukraine. S.Lab joined the Wise Guys Sustainability accelerator program, which began online on January 17 and runs for five months. As part of the program, Startup Wise Guys provided €80,000 (€50,000 cash and €30,000 to cover program costs) with the possibility to increase the investment to €120,000. Under the accelerator agreement S.Lab will give Startup Wise Guys a stake not to exceed 9%. S.Lab aims to raise an additional €500,000 by the end of the program and, after completion, may be eligible for follow-on investment of up to €200,000 offered to program participants.
